I always gravitate towards foodie gifts at Christmas, which I think says a lot more about me than anything else. Food is great all year round, but there’s something about the festive season that has sweet treats and good grub on my mind even more than usual! There are so many great gifts for foodies out there these days, from gorgeous hampers full of luxury treats to independent coffee brands, food experiences and plenty of bespoke booze, too. You’re spoilt for choice, really, but here are just a few of my go-to’s for food and drink gifts.

I’m not a huge coffee fan (yes, I know, I just cannot handle caffeine okay), but Dear Green is always recommended to me by those in the know as being one of the best to buy from. You can buy individual bags, essentials for your coffee brewing kit and even regular coffee subscriptions on their website, which is perfect for your coffee loving pals out there.

If the person you’re buying for (or you!) has a sweet tooth, then tablet is always a good purchasing decision. Tablet by Una has a gorgeous range of luxury tablet in unique flavours such as Baileys, Chocolate Orange and Lemon, alongside good ol’ vanilla, too. If you’ve never had tablet before, you haven’t lived. Go order yourself some of this and spend an afternoon on a sugar high like no other!

As much as I love tablet, I’m more of a fudge girl myself. My cousin Zoe runs Homemade Fudge Annan and makes some of the most incredible fudge I’ve ever seen. I ordered a tray of white chocolate and cookie dough fudge from her a couple of weeks ago and demolished an entire tray to myself over the space of a weekend, it’s incredible. She has so many flavours, including things like Oreo, White Chocolate and Peppermint, Baileys, Peanut Butter and Salted Caramel. I’m drooling just thinking about it, I think I need to order myself more of the white chocolate and cookie dough come payday…

Continuing with the sweet theme, Coco Chocolatier is an artisan chocolate maker who makes some of the best looking chocolate I have ever seen. You can get all sorts of flavours, including a beautiful dark chocolate gin & tonic bar, which all come in stunning packaging and make the perfect addition to a gift. I can highly recommend the Raspberry and Vanilla bean!

When wandering the Christmas Markets at St Enoch Square this week I was introduced to Copper Black Coffee, who use only the finest beans for their locally roasted coffee. I was drawn to their Christmas gift sets, which were beautifully branded and looked ever so elegant. They’d make a brilliant gift for any coffee or hot chocolate lover alike, definitely one to check out.

Gin has been having a bit of a moment recently, and luckily for me, there are some really great Scottish gin brands on the block at the moment. Take Rock Rose Gin for example, which takes its beautiful flavour from a mix of local botanicals to create a unique blend that is sure to delight any gin lover.

If you’ve been hanging around these parts since last year, you may remember Tipple Box. I reviewed a box last Christmas and was thoroughly impressed with their carefully curated selection of cocktail mixers and recipes. They also have their very own Christmas Cocktails box which would be perfect for the festive season! A great way to treat any budding mixologists in your life, or just bring a bit of excitement into your own drinks cupboard, too.

It looks like this Christmas is going to be a tee-total one for me, so instead, I’m going be indulging in my one true love (apart from cheese) and treating myself to some fancy teas instead. Tea-total? Does that work? Anyway, Thom & Tea are a Scottish tea company who pride themselves on creating quality blends that can be enjoyed anywhere. It can be difficult to find the perfect tea blend for our Scottish water, with most high street brands being tailored for the harder English water, but this is sure to do the trick.

Another tea brand that I love is Eteaket, who bring together innovative flavours to create unique blends sold in both teabags and loose leaf. They sell the only green tea that I actually like, Blooming Marvellous, which is a wonder in itself! If you fancy trying out tea with a twist, then Eteaket is the one for you.

As much as I love baking, I’m pretty rubbish at making my bakes look as good as they taste. Cake Decor is a local cake decorations supplier who has an amazing range of baking supplies, perfect for your festive baking sessions! You can find their products and kits in a variety of supermarkets, but you can also buy via their online shop too. Their glitter sprays are perfect for this time of year, and you can even use them in drinks for a bit of added sparkle!

Speaking of cakes, Snuggle Muffin is brilliant for picking up some sweet treats to send to friends and family. With flavours including Smores, Cookie Dough and Banoffee, there’s a cake out there for every palette. I also love their traybakes, and if you’re ever passing their cafe in Buchanan Galleries across from Superdrug you need to pick up some to try for yourself – or just order online if you can’t wait to see what the fuss is about.

Have you noticed that I have a sweet tooth yet? Well, the next sweet treat on my list is Caithness Chocolate, an award-winning chocolate producer from way up north in Wick. Alongside their artisan chocolates they also sell delicious chocolate covered dates, but for me, the real show stopper is the Scottish Gin Collection, which combines two of my great loves into one handy package. Perfect for Christmas!

If boozy sweets are your sort of thing, then you’ll love Tipsy Unicorn Sweets. Their cocktail inspired jellies are lovingly handmade in Nairn, and with flavours like Prosecco and Raspberry and Tropical Daquiri on offer these make brilliant stocking fillers to stock up on this year.

To continue your sugar fix, Wee Sweetie have a great range of handmade confectionery including boiled sweets, fudge and toffee. Their confectionery creations have won awards, and outside of their standard range, they also offer bespoke orders so you can have your own carefully crafted flavour! Their Bacon Praline sounds like it would be incredible. Weird, but incredible.

Another excellent gin on the market is Glasgow-made Makar Gin, full of vibrant flavours that makes it perfect for gin-based cocktails. They have a few variations of their gin, including cask aged blends that bring out unique tasting notes within the mix. I recently gave their Old Tom gin a sniff at the Glasgow Christmas Markets and knew straight away I’d need to order a bottle, as the slightly sweeter style of gin was an instant hit with me.

I first came across The Wee Fudge Co in a local delicatessen a couple of years back, and have been picking it up whenever I see it stocked ever since. As you might have gathered from my incessant rambling about my sweet tooth, I like fudge, and this fudge is no different. With gorgeous flavours like maple, mocha and even Cranachan, it’s a brilliant extra gift for the sweet lover in your life.

If you want to spice up your life, Galloway Chillies is one to watch. You can pick up their preserve jars in gift sets – perfect for presents – and their unique flavours such as Raspberry Chilli and Lime and Ginger are something a little bit different to the usual fare. I also love the sound of their Chilli Chocolate Mincemeat, which would certainly jazz up your usual mince pies!

Finally, I had the pleasure of attending a Scottish Blogger’s Collective event that took place in Epoch Glasgow, and as soon as I saw their incredible eclairs on Instagram I knew I had to make a return trip to try them for myself. I think restaurant vouchers are a great gift, no matter what time of year, as carving out time to head out for dinner is a little luxury in itself and vouchers are the perfect excuse to try somewhere new. Epoch have gift vouchers on offer this year, so why not treat someone to a night of good food, and good company?
