A Homeware Wishlist

Homeware Wishlist Millennial Pink Interiors 2017 | Colours and Carousels - Scottish Lifestyle, Beauty and Fashion blog

With the amount of homeware browsing I do, you’d think I had a whole house to fill, but nope. I can’t wait for the day I can decorate an actual house of my own with all my own bits and bobs, but for now, I’ll stick to cluttering up my mum and dad’s house with totally unnecessary trinkets that I’m saving for said house. I’d probably be better off saving more money towards my future instead of buying yet another mug, but hey, I drink a lot of tea so it’s totally justified. I think my current interiors obsession has been fuelled somewhat by the fact that our house is currently undergoing a bit of a transformation, with my mum replacing every carpet she can and the hallway finally being redecorated, months after we started ripping the wallpaper off the walls.
I’m clearly going through a bit of a pink phase at the moment, although to be fair I think this phase has been going on since my early teens. I used to claim that I hated pink, despite having a pink room complete with a pink television set, but now I’ve started to embrace my love for blush, rose and the ever-so-popular millennial pink with open arms.

Another current love of mine is the Dalmatian style spot print that has stormed onto the scene and can be found everywhere from Kate Spade to Primark. H&M has recently opened their first home department in Glasgow and I find myself trawling through the new store on a regular basis looking for some more spotty styles to add to my collection. That bedding is next on my hitlist and I think it’ll look so cute with my pink fluffy cushions. I may as well pick up the matching mug whilst I’m there, right?

I’ve not really got a whole lot of room for a new desk, but I’m dreaming of the day that I have my very own home office to decorate to my heart’s content. The perfect desk is hard to find, but I’m kind of in love with this one from West Elm. It’s pricey, but it’s god damn beautiful. I think it’s a bit cosier than a white desk, but still more versatile than a coloured or black wood desk.

At this time of year, I love nothing more than curling up in bed with a good book and a cosy blanket, so you’ll more often than not find me browsing blankets on a daily basis. I love the huge chunky knit blankets and am planning on eventually investing in one from Pomme Pomme, but for now, it remains a bit of a pipe dream because they are a tad expensive. The materials and the time involved completely justify the price, but my bank account would have a fit if I spent that much on a blanket before I’ve paid off the final chunk of my credit card, no matter how cosy it may be or how good it might look on my Instagram…
