I’m not afraid to admit that I am feeling hella festive this year and I am very excited for Christmas to come along. I didn’t have the best run up to Christmas last year as I was really ill thanks to numerous complications after surgery, and so to make up for it I’m determined to celebrate the festivities as much as humanly possible this year. Although I have to say I’m a little disappointed in the Christmas advert offerings so far! Studying advertising has ruined me, but then again nothing will really beat Mog’s Christmas Calamity or John Lewis circa 2011-2014.
Last week I braved the snow (yes, snow!) and headed along to Kiehl’s on Buchanan Street to have a little sneak peek of their Christmas range and chat all things skincare with some other blogging babes. I’d never had much of a hands-on experience with Kiehl’s before, having only tried a handful of their products and shamefully never stepping foot in their Buchanan Street store until that night. I’m not sure why really, as I had always heard great things about their products and really liked their “prescribed skincare” ethos, where they really take the time to get to understand what your skin needs.
After taking the time to get to know the brand a little bit more (and enjoy the delicious treats from Baffo and Crolla’s courtesy of Deliveroo) I’ve come to realise the error of my ways. We went over a suggested routine for both dry and oily skin, as well as being shown some of the best sellers, recent releases and some sneaky peeks at upcoming products too. I’m very excited to grow my collection and have certainly added a few things to my Christmas list. I’ve heard fantastic things about their Ultimate Thickening Shampoo and Magic Elixir which I’m planning on picking up come payday in hopes that they’ll work wonders for me.
Now, in the true spirit of Christmas, I thought I’d share some of my favourite picks for perfect presents…
I tried to pick a selection of Kiehl’s best sellers, such as the Creme de Corps (used by the Victoria’s Secret Models) and Kylie Jenner’s favourite Creamy Eye Treatment, and the products that most caught my eye such as the Daily Reviving Concentrate, so I think this is a handy little highlights reel of their Christmas offerings. Kiehl’s really have something to suit everyone, and the staff in the store know their product range inside out so are the perfect people to help you pick your presents. You can even get them packaged up in a pretty red box, which saves on wrapping! A game changer in my books.
I find a lot of people don’t really like to spend the money on skincare, especially if they’re not as interested in it as I am, so I often go for body, hair and skin products as gifts. There’s something so soothing about a good skincare routine, both inside and out, and it’s like a little pamper in a parcel that can be used at home! If you’re not sure of skin types or sensitivities, Kiehl’s also have a selection of all round body and hair saviours which would be perfect too. If you’re buying beauty gifts this year, Kiehl’s is the place to be. Can someone take my bank card away before I go crazy treating myself, please?
