As Pinterest obsessed as I am, I’m not all that much of a crafter. I’d like to be, and every so often I find myself planning scrapbooks and DIY decorations aplenty, but for some reason or another they never actually materialise in real life. I’m a DIY dreamer, and I know for a fact I’m not the only one.
Last week I headed along to one of my favourite haunts in Glasgow – Paperchase – to check out their new Project Craft workshops with a handful of bloggers. We settled down with some snacks & a supply of crafty materials for a right old natter whilst getting stuck in to some tissue paper pom-poms in a pretty honeycomb design. Although it looked rather intimidating at first I was quickly put at ease as we were talked through the process and soon found myself immersed in a pretty relaxing rhythm of layering tissue paper in alternating colours. The pom poms looked so pretty, although my creation was slightly “rustic”, and would make perfect party decorations. Or even just for your living room, if you so please!
After finishing up our paper pom poms I had a quick nosey at the end products from some of the other classes on offer and am now determined to get round to making that scrapbook I’ve been talking about for months now. The example on show was so beautiful, I found myself wanting to spend hours flipping through all the pages just to see all the different techniques and styles on offer. I’m definitely going to be booking myself in to one of the scrapbooking classes once I’m back from my holidays, it’s time I stopped putting it off!
The Project Craft workshops are running in London, Manchester and Glasgow with various dates for each of the workshops throughout the next couple of months. You can find out more information, including the other workshops that are available, on the Project Craft page.
