Like many bloggers I am a massive fan of Lush, so when I was invited to celebrate their 20th anniversary at a party in their Sauchiehall Street you could probably hear the excited squeals a mile away. Luckily, I was certainly not disappointed and the team in the store were absolutely fantastic hosts.
The Sauchiehall Store is the smaller of the two stores in the city centre, but this makes it one of my favourites to shop in as it’s usually a bit quieter and easier to get a proper look at what’s on offer. It was even better having the whole shop reserved for a handful of bloggers and I was delighted to be let loose with my camera. What is it about Lush stores that are so photogenic?!
Throughout the night the lovely staff went out of their way to keep us happy (I ate a lot of party rings) and make sure we were entertained. Despite having loved Lush for many years now I didn’t actually know all that much about the history of the company and some of their products so I absolutely loved hearing more about the beginnings of the company and how it’s grown to be the bath time superstar of the current day. I was in my element hearing all about how they ensure their ingredients are sourced from sustainable channels and I came away with an even bigger list of products to try… it’s a miracle I ever have any money.
As well as demonstrations of their best selling products we were lucky enough to get a cheeky preview of some of the Oxford Street exclusives that are making their way out to the other stores (and a couple that aren’t… booooooo!) which all looked like brilliant additions to my bath time line up. I think I’ll need to make a pilgrimage to the Oxford Street store as soon as possible.
A visit to the Lush Spa has been on my bucket list for the longest time and after a demonstration of one of the treatments it’s place has been well and truly cemented. I think I’ll have to treat myself to the spa gift box to tide me over in the mean time because I am so desperate for the brownie batter-esque The Comforter body scrub. Not only does it build on my all time favourite bubble bar, but it leaves you with silky soft skin – something I am always on the hunt for.
As if that wasn’t enough we were given the chance to make our own Big Blue bath ballistics and it was a lot harder than it looks. I loved seeing how the iconic fizzers were made and now I have my own little unique one for myself! I haven’t used mine yet but I’m saving it for a nice chilled out bath on Wednesday night. They were just one of the great products in the super generous goody bags we got on the night – I’m so excited to properly try them all out as soon as I have the chance. I’ve been loving the Percup massage bar which is one that I usually ignored when in store.
We rounded off the night with a Drag Race style “Who Wore It Best?” competition using the beautiful knot wraps available in store. I know that they’re intended to be used as gift wrap, but I couldn’t help think of how useful an addition it would be to my wardrobe… typical me.
