One of the best things about being back in Glasgow – blog wise – is being able to actually attend events again. I love catching up with other bloggers and seeing what’s going on in the city, so I was beyond excited to head to the #DebsSummerSoiree last Thursday in the relatively new restaurant Gusto. Gusto is definitely on my to-visit list and it’s place has been well and truly cemented by how amazing the food smelled, the delicious cocktails and fantastic atmosphere within the restaurant. You know me, I love food!
I met up with Jenny just before the event and in typical Scottish fashion our summery outfits were met with a torrential downpour – cue some soaked sandals and a mad dash to the venue! Despite arriving a bit early we were greeted with open arms and a very welcome glass of champagne before diving in to see what was going on.
Every season you can rely on Debenhams to have some fantastic fashion staples and incredible accessories. This summer is no different with statement necklaces, gorgeous prints and beautiful shoes galore! The palm print heels from H! by Henry Holland were particular favourites and a total bargain at £35 – I smell a pre-birthday treat… You can find them on the Debenhams website here if you are also in love with them like me.
Fashionable footwear aside, the range of swimwear and other summer pieces has made me quite desperate to get started on my holiday shopping. I have my eye on a couple of bikinis at the moment, including the brilliant aztec print one pictured above. Debenhams definitely have poolside chic nailed down, it’s a must visit if you’re shopping for your summer wardrobe!
As a beauty obsessive I was so excited to have a nosey at some of the latest releases from a few of my favourite brands including Benefit, Urban Decay and Nails Inc. Let’s just say my shopping list has had a fair few new additions since Thursday night…
I’m particularly excited about the launch of Benefit’s new colours for the They’re Real range as I’m quite intrigued to see how the colours would work for me. I’ve been reading lots of reviews about the range recently and am leaning towards picking up a couple of the green pieces! Other eye catching products included Urban Decay’s Afterglow blushes from their summer collection. Must haves for a sweep of summer colour! Are you noticing a theme here? Summer = colour. Which is surprising for someone who’s wardrobe consists primarily of grey…
In the past I’ve been to press events that have been a little bit on the boring side, which I feel so guilty for saying, but the Debenhams Summer Soiree was the complete opposite. As far as press evening activities go, they had it covered. From the rounds of delicious cocktails and canapés (enough to keep me happy!) to DIY flower crown workshops and some arm candy in the form of temporary tattoos from Bare Baroque it was a really great evening!
Massive thanks goes to Debenhams for inviting me along, you guys sure know how to entertain!
