Why hello there! Notice anything different?
After arriving home yesterday afternoon I got straight to work fiddling about with my blog to try and beautify it a tad – you may have noticed that if you tried to get on yesterday – and now it’s time for the big reveal.
It’s not entirely complete yet, there’s still a few little details that need ironing out (like my stupid navigation which I spent hours trying to figure out yesterday) but I’m really happy with how it’s looking right now. I decided to nab a cheap wee template for a fiver from Etsy and then tweaked it here and there, adding some new features that I’d wanted for a while, and generally just giving Colours and Carousels a bit of a tidy up!
Some of you may be familiar with the style of my header as I’ve talked about the wonderful designer before. As soon as I set about redesigning I knew that I had to have some of Claire Barclay’s handiwork involved and boy did she deliver. How beautiful is my new header?! I squealed when I first saw it. I just can’t get enough of her work and spend many an hour gazing lovingly at her Etsy shop.
So what’s next for Colours and Carousels? Well, alongside the snazzy new look I’m going to play about with my content a bit. I’m hoping to bring a better variety as well as some more practical resource type posts, with a possible return for slightly more in depth blogging tips in the future. Is that something you’d like to see? I have so many ideas spilling out of my ears right now that I can’t wait to bring to the blog. You’ll be seeing even more of what I love (i.e. probably more food) and hopefully you’ll have as much fun reading my posts as I do writing them.
Basically, things are changing. It’s a new chapter in my life and it makes sense for my blog to change alongside me. Some of the changes are minor and will probably go unnoticed, but they put my twitching hands at ease for now. Damn I haven’t half rambled, but I’m just so excited.
What do you think of the redesign – isn’t Claire talented?
