4 mashed bananas (mostly yellow with some brown spots works best)
200g plain flour
140g caster sugar
1 and 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
A large dollop (technical term) of Nutella
Splash of vanilla essence
A while back I won a couple of books in Hayley’s give away, one of which was a Nutella cook book full of delicious recipes using the glorious spread that is Nutella. A massive benefit of using Nutella (for me) is that my brother can’t eat it due to a mild nut allergy which means aaaaall the more for me (it may seem petty but this is just how it works in my house, he eats everything in sight).
Now, while I love the taste of bananas I absolutely despise the texture. Banana bread on the other hand is a completely different story and I could eat it all day long – so good! I’ve not made it for a while so had forgotten just how easy it is, all you really have to do is combine all of the ingredients and mix well before pouring in to a greased loaf tin and then baking! I had mine in the oven at 180c for about half an hour before turning it down to 140c for another half an hour to make sure I had a lovely golden crust but didn’t over bake the inside.
This loaf has gone down an absolute treat in my house, in fact I don’t think it’s lasted more than three days! I’d love to know how you get on if you decide to make this, and if you have any other fun Nutella based recipes send them my way. x
