MUSIC: McBusted, Katy Perry and interviewing E of E

If you follow me on Twitter you’ll probably have seen my constant tweets about my perfect weekend, but sometimes 140 characters just isn’t enough to fully share what went on! I mentioned last Friday that I was off to the McBusted gig (again) to interview their support band E of E for our student magazine, but I really didn’t expect to have such a great day.

It was my first time interviewing anyone, let alone a pretty successful band, so I was a bit nervous but I think it went really well – the guys were absolutely lovely and it was so great to meet them! Hopefully I’ll get to do some more in the future. I’ll share a bit more of their interview & set review when it’s published for Radar but I can sum it up in one word: fantastic. I was incredibly grateful just to get press tickets for such an amazing gig but finding out that they were front row was even more astounding. Both E of E & McBusted provided a great night’s entertainment, I’m hoping I’ll get to see both again.

On Saturday & Sunday I was at the Hydro yet again to see the absolutely gorgeous babe that is Katy Perry. If you’ve been about for a while you’ll know that Katy Perry is my ultimate woman crush and I just plain ol’ adore her so I was pretty chuffed to have tickets for both of her Glasgow nights on the Prismatic tour (I really hope she comes back for more!). On the Sunday I was lucky enough to be in the Reflection Section so spent my night singing at her feet – she totally looked me in the eye and I had a major fan girl freak out. As per usual she put on an amazing show and I’m so glad I got to witness it first-hand. I’ve been listening to the set list ever since. She was also supported by Icona Pop who were pretty good themselves, I had a fab time screaming my heart out to “I Love It”, it was my summer tune last year so has a lot of good memories attached. I’m getting to see Katy again next Sunday at Radio 1’s Big Weekend which is set to be a decent day, I’m considering vlogging bits but I’m not sure! I now want to dye my hair pink, drop out of uni and follow Katy around the world. Ah.
