|Nivea Daily Essentials Rich Moisturising Day Cream for Dry & Sensitive Skin – £4.19
(available from big supermarkets, Boots & Superdrug)
This was yet another one of my bargain Tesco beauty finds, and part of a little mini haul including a few bits from a new brand which I’m trialling at the moment & should be reviewing later in the week! I didn’t really need a new moisturiser but I didn’t feel like my usual Simple offering was really working for my skin any more and this was half price. I’m pretty sure part of the reason I went for Nivea was the fact that we had been doing a case study of their range in my Marketing class the day before too… Dangerous course I tell you!
There were two different formulas on offer but as my skins been quite painfully dry lately I decided to go for the richer of the two and I’m slightly regretting it. It is super hydrating and has definitely helped my dryness, however I feel like the formula is a little bit too heavy for my skin and has broken me out a tad. Over the past few days I’ve tried to be a bit less heavy handed when applying it and that has definitely made a difference so if you fancy giving this a go I would definitely bear that in mind! A little really goes a long way.
Despite the slight breakout I’m really happy with this cream, I doubt I’ll use it much when the weather improves but at the moment it’s perfect. I think when it gets a bit warmer I might opt for their lighter version or else go back to my usual Simple choice. For this price, you can’t really go wrong. It does what it says on the tin (tube?) and offers the protection of SPF 15 which is a massive bonus in my eyes. If you suffer from really dry skin I would definitely recommend this however if it’s not a massive issue then their lighter version may be the best for you.
