This month I've been:

Reading - Adorkable (thank you Hayley!), The White Paper on Scottish Independence (so exciting), Company Magazine, Elle Collections

Watching - House, House and more House

Doing - Starting university, university work (yawn), reaching 600 followers on Bloglovin & 700 on Instagram! Eilidh came to Glasgow for a weekend, been back and forth between Glasgow and Aberdeen... that's about it!

Looking forward to - The Scottish Blogger meet up tomorrow! Getting some coursework out the way, being able to afford something that isn't Asda's own noodles, getting insured, having lots of people up to visit in March (every weekend!) and my week off in April.

OOTD: With a love this deep we don't need no sleep

Welcome to Awkward Outfit Photo Poses 101

Jumper dress - George @ Asda
Pinafore - Primark
Boots - New Look
(Generation 915, the shoes there go up to size 8 I think!)
Necklace - Primark
Scrabble ring - Sister Vintage (only 50p now!!)
Being the lazy arse I am I often look for long-ish jumpers that I can just throw on with a pair of leggings so when I spotted this monochrome daisy print culprit on the sale rack in Asda it was very quickly thrown in to my (mum's) trolley. Surprisingly enough, to me at least, I still haven't worn this with leggings, instead opting for a denim skirt on one occasion and this black pinafore on another. I feel a "three ways to wear" type post coming on...

As per usual all of my jewellery is from Primark & Sister Vintage. These are a couple of my favourite places to shop for jewellery (I also love Delilah Dust) as they always have great, on trend pieces for incredibly affordable prices. At the end of the month I'm planning on doing a bit of a jewellery update for Spring as I haven't really made any considerable purchases since around last August time.

I have a bit of a crazy week this week, and to honest I'm pretty busy until around the start of April when I have my spring break from university. Next month I have lots of people coming to visit me which I can't wait for, but it's going to be weird spending so much time in Aberdeen for a change.

At the moment I'm trying to do a bit of reading about Scottish Independence. It's fast approaching and a pretty big deal. I'm thinking about doing some sort of monthly series on it, basically just documenting what research I've been doing and seeing how it affects my opinion. If you're Scottish and taking part in the referendum, what's your current stance? I'd love to hear some different views from different people.

REVIEW: Seventeen Stay Pout lipstick in "It's Complicated"

Seventeen Stay Pout lipstick review

Seventeen Stay Pout lipstick swatch
Seventeen Stay Pout lipstick in "It's Complicated" - £4.49 from Boots
I bought this lipstick on a total whim as I was in Boots with a voucher for £2 off any lipstick, 100 points for any Seventeen product and triple points when you buy any lipstick or mascara. For a change I could use all of these vouchers in the one purchase so I decided to kill three birds with one stone (to alter a phrase) and picked up this lipstick for a mere £2.49 gaining a very nice 300 points to add to my Boots card! Essentially, this lipstick didn't really cost me anything as that's £3 worth of points (or so I keep telling myself).

I don't know why I went for this shade, I think I just wanted a bit of a lighter pink (that's not too light) to add to my collection. I was in a rush so just went by the colour on the tube - rookie mistake - which looked like a dusty pink. On application it's actually a much brighter pink but still wearable; colour wise anyway.

I'm actually really disappointed in this lipstick, it applies well and has reasonable pigmentation, it doesn't cling to dry patches on first application and isn't overly drying. All seemed well at first, however when I got in to university a mere thirty minutes later (I hadn't even had my usual morning tea from Costa yet!) my lipstick had turned in to a horrible, patchy, dry mess. It was awful and despite scrubbing it off right away I was paranoid about my lipstick looking awful all day. My lips aren't overly dry and usually when applying lipstick I apply a balm, then a layer of lipstick, blot, apply a thin layer of translucent powder and apply another layer of lipstick to ensure lasting power. I thought that maybe this process was the reason behind this ultimate lipstick fail however I tried it again the next day without the powder & balm and the same thing happened.

So basically, it all started out very well, but soon diminished in to a completely unwearable lipstick that has been abolished to the back of my make up drawer (and will probably be thrown out quite soon).

Have you tried any of the Stay Pout lipsticks? Did you have the same issue - or is it just me?!

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine compiling a wish list of trainers. I am so un-sporty it hurts (literally, I'm on the top floor of my block with no lift) so trainers never held much appeal for me until recently. I'm not sure what kickstarted it but suddenly I just can't get enough, I think it's probably a comfort thing. It's definitely not sports related anyway!

I've wanted a pair of grey Nike Blazers (top right) for ages, but now I'm leaning towards the pink & blue pairs (second & third top)... decisions, decisions! Which pair would you go for?

*insert cliché intro sentence about how fast time is going here*

Soooooo, another month over another Share The Love. I've had loads of favourites this month so it was quite difficult to pick but I hope that you love this months top three as much as I do.

LILY has been a favourite of mine for a long time. I first discovered her on Instagram quite a while ago and was in love with her then blog Red Brick Lipstick. Recently she's relaunched a beautiful new blog titled Miaou or Never and I am every bit in love with it as I was RBL. She's an incredibly talented photographer and has fantastic style. I'm blaming her for my current obsession with Vintage Style Me smock dresses.

GEORGIA is a more recent favourite of mine. I love her Thursday Thrift Finds and always end up with some new additions to my wishlist after reading them. She's also posted a very handy series about HTML & CSS which I wholeheartedly recommend if it's something you have trouble with!

SARAH is a fellow Scottish blogger who is always posting about envy-inducing products. Her reviews are fantastic and very often push me to buy (or desperately want to buy) lots of new beauty bits. She's also absolutely lovely! If you're after a new read I would without a doubt recommend her blog.

Who have you been loving this month?

FOOD: Cocktail & Burger

Apologies for the awful quality of photos, I hadn't intended on blogging about Cocktail & Burger so didn't take my camera however after I tried it I knew I had to share! Luckily my phone isn't half bad and I'm one of those people who like to Instagram food before I eat it...

For our Valentine's meal Paddy & I decided that the Sunday suited us best as I was travelling down to Glasgow from Aberdeen on the Friday and we had other plans on the Saturday, so come Sunday night we headed in to the city centre to try out Cocktail & Burger on Sauchiehall Street. As the name suggests, they serve various burgers (and hot dogs!) accompanied by numerous cocktails alongside some softs, beers and spirits. Neither of us has visited before but they had a pretty decent reputation and purse friendly prices!

I opted for the pulled pork offering topped with cider soaked onions (and chips) with a raspberry daiquiri whilst Paddy had a cheese & bacon burger (also with chips) and some sort of beer-y drink... I can't remember exactly what it was but it's meant to be similar to Peroni - possibly Beer Lao? Both of our meals were delicious (I tried both) and the my cocktail was great for just a fiver. For dessert we shared their only option - battered ice cream with a dark chocolate shard and salted caramel sauce - and I can confirm that it is amazing. Weird, but amazing. It's like eating ice cream that's inside a doughnut? I think that's the best way to describe it.

So, if you're in Glasgow and looking for somewhere to eat I would definitely recommend Cocktail & Burger. I personally can't wait to get back and have another meal! I really fancy trying out their lunch deal which is a burger & fries for a fiver.

Anywhere you would recommend for food in Glasgow? I've got an ever-growing list of places to try!

This year I'm trying to say yes to a few more opportunities, I want to try new things and have new experiences and I figured that saying yes was the best place to start. The National Citizen Service (NCS) have an amazing campaign that I'm sure you'll have heard about (you can watch a video about it here) before that's all about saying yes to things, it's crucial to having fun and discovering new things, which is a big part of life!

One of the many amazing things they're doing as part of NCS YES is putting on a gig at Brixton Academy on the first of March and you can enter to win tickets for you and a friend! Not only that, but the lovely folks at NCS have given me a £20 ASOS voucher to giveaway to you lovely lot. I'm awfully jealous, but hey, it's not like I need any more clothes. This post was written in collaboration with NCS who are kindly providing the voucher for the giveaway. I have not been compensated in any way for this post and as per usual all opinions are my own. I genuinely believe it's a great project and well worth publicising on my blog. x

READING: Mini Book Haul

Adorkable by Sarra Manning
Nutella: The 30 Best Recipes
I'm sure you've all heard me prattle on about my lovely friend Hayley before, but here is another Hayley Appreciation Post.

Basically, a couple of weeks ago I won her fab give away alongside Morag and was ever so lucky enough to win a book of my choice. Me, being me, struggled to decide and after some pondering I told Hayley to surprise me - and so she did! I was very pleasantly surprised when these two books appeared at my door, I've wanted to read Adorkable for ages and I LOVE NUTELLA (or cheaper alternatives, student budget y'know). I'm so excited to get stuck in to these two, I ended up staying up reading Adorkable till god knows when last night and I'm loving it so far (you can keep up with my progress on Goodreads here). After a quick flick through the Nutella book I've got my eye on a few of the recipes to start out with and will definitely be blogging them as they all look insanely delicious! At the moment I'm thinking macarons, some sort of melty treat and obviously a Nutella Charlotte. I don't have a clue what it is, but it seemed appropriate.

Have you got any good books recently?

Quick extra, I've decided to start doing free advertising in my sidebar for a while. At the moment I have ten places a week so you should definitely check the lovely lot out! If you're interested drop me an email with the subject "Advertising" and I'll add you to my (rather long) list x

6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10
I'm quite fussy when it comes to bags, hence why I've been searching for the perfect bag since last October. I usually either like quite muted tones (usually black or brown) or I go all out and go bright (green is a particular favourite). I think the shape and size I go for can be quite consistent, I tend to look for something that will fit my camera with ease. I particularly like the turquoise offering from ASOS (middle bottom) as I think it would make a lovely little camera bag in one of my favourite colours.

Which is your favourite?

WATCHING: Charlotte at the Cinema #2

Based on the true story of Jordan Belfort, from his rise to a wealthy stockbroker living the high life to his fall involving crime, corruption and the federal government. (IMDB)

In simple terms, if Leonardo doesn't get his Oscar for this film then there's something wrong with the world. It's raunchy, exciting and incredibly interesting (despite being three hours long). I had planned on reading the book before I saw this film but after some insane hype surrounding it I gave in and went to see it the day after it was released. I did have pretty high expectations for this film and they were definitely fulfilled. Lately the majority of my favourite films have had DiCaprio in and this is just another addition to the list. It's worth a watch, but bring snacks as it is very long.

A con man, Irving Rosenfeld, along with his seductive British partner, Sydney Prosser, is forced to work for a wild FBI agent, Richie DiMaso. DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia. (IMDB)

I wasn't too sure what to expect with this film and was kind of only going to see it because of Jennifer Lawrence, but I'm glad I did. Despite spending nearly the entire film trying to figure out who played Irving (clue: it's very obviously Christian Bale, I'm just blind apparnetly) I did really enjoy the film. My only issue with it was the pacing which I felt resulted in the film coming across as sooooo much longer than it actually is. It was a bit strange in that it was a weird combination of funny and serious but in a way that suggested the writers couldn't quite decide what they were going for. I did still enjoy it, but it's not the best film I've seen lately.

Three best friends find themselves where we've all been - at that confusing moment in every dating relationship when you have to decide "So...where is this going?" (IMDB)

I hadn't heard too much about this in the run up to it's release, however seeing one solitary trailer on TV I thought it looked worth a watch. Having been absolutely obsessed with High School Musical in the past Zac Efron was definitely part of the appeal... Regardless of that, this film was actually surprisingly good. Even my boyfriend agreed - despite his initial doubts! It was pretty cliché as can be expected with this kind of film however it was funny, captivating and emotional in equal amounts. It's not amazing, but it's light hearted and a good easy watch.

Batman Begins: "After training with his mentor, Batman begins his war on crime to free the crime-ridden Gotham City from corruption that the Scarecrow and the League of Shadows have cast upon it."
The Dark Knight: "When Batman, Gordon and Harvey Dent launch an assault on the mob, they let the clown out of the box, the Joker, bent on turning Gotham on itself and bringing any heroes down to his level."
The Dark Knight Rises: "Eight years on, a new evil rises from where the Batman and Commissioner Gordon tried to bury it, causing the Batman to resurface and fight to protect Gotham City... the very city which brands him an enemy." (IMDB)

I thought I'd put these three in to one seeing as they are a trilogy. These weren't a new watch but a couple of weekends ago my boyfriend and I made our way through the trio (they're some of his favourite films) and seeing as I always enjoy watching them I decided they were worth a little review. Basically, these films are amazing. Christian Bale is the perfect actor to play Batman in all three. They're action packed and incredibly dramatic but have moved me to tears on more than one occasion. If you haven't already watched these - why not?!
9/10 (Batman Begins: 7/10, The Dark Knight: 8/10, The Dark Knight Rises: 10/10)

A young man recounts the way he blackmailed his fellow classmates into contributing to his literary magazine. (IMDB)

Moving on now to my random Netflix choices, I didn't want to include them all as I've been watching a LOT so I'm just going to include the first three that came to mind. Struck By Lightning is the first of these and it was a bit... odd. I'm not sure why but it just made me feel quite uncomfortable (possibly in how ridiculous and far fetched it is). It's got all your typical "high school movie" clichés, but Chris Colfer and Rebel Wilson were fantastic characters. It was an easy watch but left me feeling a bit down afterwards.
4/10 (would have been 2 or 3 if it wasn't for Rebel Wilson)

In the future, the Japanese government captures a class of ninth-grade students and forces them to kill each other under the revolutionary "Battle Royale" act. (IMDB)

This film is mental. Think Hunger Games on drugs. I'd always wanted to see this so when I found it on Netflix under Cult Movies I thought it would be worth a watch. I'm not a massive fan of movies with subtitles as I sometimes find it difficult to read and watch what's happening at the same time but that wasn't too big an issue with this film. It's very disturbing, but well worth watching and deserved of it's status as a "cult" film.

As a new year at school begins, Lola's heart is broken by her boyfriend, though soon she's surprised by her best friend, promising musician Kyle, who reveals his feelings for her. (IMDB)

I don't remember this film being out in the cinema at any point and after watching it I can see why. It's pretty boring and cheesy in the not-so-good way. I didn't have particularly high hopes for it but Netflix kept shoving it in my face for some reason or another so I finally watched it. As catchy as Miley Cyrus' music can be her acting in this is awful. Definitely won't be watching this again!

Have you been watching any good movies lately? I need some recommendations!
