|The Needlecase Box – The Craft Box Company*|
Whilst browsing Twitter the other day I came across Edinburgh based The Craft Box Company who create boxes containing all the equipment you need to try your hand at different crafts – kind of like Crafty Creatives but more specific. I for one love getting a bit crafty so thought it was an excellent idea, and jumped at the chance to review a box when they offered!
I received The Needlecase Box which I was very happy with, like I mentioned in my Budget Bucket List post I’ve been trying to get more in to sewing and I think this was the perfect place to start.
The box contained two pieces of pretty fabric, a piece of felt, two pieces of ribbon and a sewing kit. I love the pattern on my fabric – it’s very me! As soon as I opened the box I set off straight away to start making it. It’s a pretty straightforward project, however I did find the instructions a little too basic and felt they could have been more detailed. Once I’d got in to the swing of things it didn’t take me long to finish and apart from my awful sewing in the last corner I’m pretty happy with it! I’m planning on adding a little blue button on one side to make a closure, but the sewing kit only contained small white and black buttons which I didn’t fancy using.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with this little box! The only thing that would be a major improvement for me would be the inclusion of more detailed instructions to make it a bit more accessible to people who aren’t that great at sewing to start out with. I’m definitely going to be keeping my eye out for more boxes to try – at the moment I have my eye on The Birds Nest Necklace Box!
The Needlecase Box retails at £5 and can be found here. To find out more about The Craft Box Company check out their website here. You can also follow them on Twitter and Instagram or like them on Facebook!
