Love & Beauty by Forever 21 – Natural Eye Palette

Natural Eyeshadow Palette – Forever 21 £5.65
So if you follow me on Twitter you’ll already be very aware of my new found love for Forever 21. I was one of those lunatics that queued in the freezing wind & snow last Friday morning in order to be one of the very first in to the AMAZING new store – seriously, if you get the chance to visit do it! It’s three massive floors of inexpensive wonder.
Anyway, on one of my numerous visits (I’ve been 4 times since it opened) I was having a good ol’ nosey at the accessories section which is a glittering heaven and I spotted the cosmetics. Forever 21 not only stock hundreds of amazing clothes, jewellery, bags and shoes – they also have their own cosmetics range including eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks and brushes. I first noticed their pastel palette which had some lovely colours in, but I then spotted the natural palette which was exactly what I was after. Seeing as it was only £5.65 I found it awfully hard to resist, much like the rest of the shop. Seriously – bargain alert.

Shades swatched L-R from dark to light

The palette contains ten shades ranging from almost white to a very dark brown and also comes with a black kohl pencil and a double-ended wand with a sponge at one end and a brush at the over. The lighter shades are mostly matte but some have a very subtle hint of shimmer whereas the darker shades – especially the 3rd from left – have a much more obvious shimmer to them. The colours are all part of your standard neutral collection and have no major statement colours. After applying I found that these colours we’re all quite warm tones which will probably look better on me when I have more of a tan instead of my current Snow White-esque colouring at the moment.
Overall, I’m not overly amazed by this palette, it doesn’t do anything other palettes don’t already do. The lighter shades don’t seem to have much pigmentation when applied with the sponge applicator from the packet and there isn’t much range in colour, but I do like it and will definitely be using it. My favourite shade is the third from the left as it has a nice shimmer to it and seems the most pigmented out of the ten. After applying with the sponge applicator I felt that the pigmentation wasn’t great, but I then applied with my own eyeshadow brush and found it a lot better. These shadows managed to stay put for the duration of my  snowy day without a primer which I was pretty impressed by. I was hoping this would be more similar to the MUA Heaven & Earth palette which is one of my favourite basics and was only £4, but is now running low and needing replaced. However like I said I do still like it and I think that this will be perfect for a nice nude smokey eye and handy for a daily eyeshadow too, plus the packaging is so pretty!

Have you visited the new Forever 21 yet – are you as obsessed as me? I would definitely expect a lot more posts featuring products from them!
