Set my body on fire so I could be free

This is a terrible photo, I know. I literally took hundreds and this was the only one that looked semi-decent, damn dull weather! T-shirt - Miss Selfridge, denim shirt - vintage, velvet leggings - Miss Selfridge

Hello! I have some increeeedibly exciting news that I'm so happy to share with you lovely lot!

Recipe: Garlic & Lemon Chicken Risotto

If you know me then you will know fine well that I love my food. I'm no Gordon Ramsay but I do love to cook and right now this easy peasy little dish is one of my favourite things to eat and comes in at around 450 calories (dependent on mayo use...)! I've never posted any recipes and I feel like I'm waffling a bit, but please let me know what you thought if you try it!

100g grilled chicken breast
75g risotto rice (uncooked)
Approx. 500ml chicken stock
Lemon juice
Garlic mayonnaise (I used the lighter version)

Basically - I'm terrible at explaining things - I cooked the risotto according to the instructions with the chicken stock and added a little bit of lemon juice then once cooked and drained I mixed it with a little bit of garlic mayo. After grilling the chicken I cut it up in to little cubes and again smothered it in lemon juice (I love lemon) then mixed it in with the risotto and served with a little side salad and some yummy toast. With my salad I tend to go for garlic mayo (I think there's a trend arising here) or a little balsamic vinegar. I'm trying my best to eat healthily at the moment so this is one of my go to dishes as it's super easy to make and tastes delicious! Apologies for my terrible instructions, again, I just wanted to share one of my favourite meals!

P.S. My prelims are this week so I'm watching House studying a lot, but alongside exams comes study leave! So now that I'm starting to get back in to the swing of things with blogging this time off will definitely help.

Also, while I'm here I just want to make a little note. My last post about losing my gorgeous kitten was about something that was very personal to me and has resulted in a tough time for my whole family, however I've had to delete a lot of comments from that post from people who quite clearly hadn't even bothered to read it. If you 'love' a post about losing a family pet then you probably should get your head checked. It's offensive, insensitive and makes you look incredibly ignorant. Please don't comment purely for self promotion, it makes me less likely to check out your blog. I love knowing that people have read my posts, and I always check out the blogs of people who have quite clearly read before commenting. Ramble over!

I'm very sad to say that yesterday my beautiful baby kitten passed away. He would have been one next week. Devastating news to say the least. I hope wherever you are you have all the food and cuddles a little kitten could ever want, there was never a dull moment with you here and I'm so happy you came in to our lives for the amazing period of time we had you. I'll always miss your cheeky little face and our cuddles at bed time. You'll always be my beautiful boy. x

Reality is overrated

A wild outfit post appears. Hello! It's been an awfully long time since I've posted an outfit, and after finally tidying my room this weekend I decided it was time to give my new tripod a spin and snap a couple of photos. Apologies for the terrible lighting. I wore this to go watch my boyfriend's sister-in-law play Beauty in Sleeping Beauty for panto, it was so good! Otherwise, between studying and school, I've been over-obsessively watching House, M.D - hence the title. Desperately in love with Hugh Laurie and I can't even explain why! He's a talented man. This week is my last week at school before prelims which will be super fun as ever... It's also my lovely mummy's 50th birthday on Thursday so we're going out for dinner than having a party on Saturday! Super duper excited for that, I do love a good party.

Lots of love,
