I'm rarely a loyal customer, which is probably a business' nightmare, but it's not always due to a disappointing product or service, in fact, it's more often than not just because I am continually obsessed with trying new things. As much as this could be attributed to my love of blogging and the need to test new products to create new content, I think it's just in my nature, so when I find myself returning to a brand on numerous occasions I know it's truly love. One brand in particular that I know I can rely on is The Body Shop, my love for which has been instilled from an early age thanks to my mum's fondness for their products. Whatever my skincare concern, be it the chronic dryness that plagues me all year round, hormonal breakouts, a dull complexion or just a spot of bath time pampering, I know that I can turn to The Body Shop to cater to my needs.

I have a lot of favourite products from The Body Shop, but the one I'm currently ever so desperate to share is the Chinese Ginseng and Rice Mask that was released last year. £16 will buy you a rather reasonably sized pot of this goodness, which is even better considering that my first pot lasted me nearly a full year despite twice weekly use. I have a plethora of face masks in my collection, so I hadn't been planning on replacing it until those were emptied, but after a few short weeks without using this mask I knew I had to have it back in my life, and here we are.

The Chinese Ginseng and Rice mask is inspired by Chinese traditions which have been used to create a creamy yet exfoliating face mask that's perfect for dry, dull skin. The blend of ginseng extracts, rice extracts and sesame seed oil has been formulated in a way that means there are no parabens, silicones, paraffin or mineral oils used. The result is a perfect pamper in a pot, with twice weekly usage resulting in softer, brighter skin.

I'm a big fan of exfoliating products, which is no surprise as someone who is constantly harping on about their dry skin, but some can be a bit harsh for my sometimes sensitive complexion. This mask, however, is far from it and does a fantastic job of revitalising my skin without leaving it stripped or sore. After popping this on in the bath I'm left with skin that feels fresh and clean, not clogged up or feeling like it's been scrubbed within an inch of its life.

The mask has a light citrus scent with hints of ginger, which is nowhere near as overpowering as some masks can be. The creamy texture feels a lot more luxurious than a £16 pot from the high street, making it ideal for those moments where you need a little treat.

The real show of strength for me, though, was how my skin looked and felt when I stopped using it. Although I've always loved using this mask, it wasn't until I'd finished my pot that I realised just how much of a difference it had been making to my complexion. Within a few weeks, my skin was back to its usual carry on of dry patches, redness and an overall lack of brightness. My makeup wasn't applying as well, as it was clinging to my dry patches and not coping well with a poor surface, so I had to bring it back into my routine again. Now, my skin is back to the smooth, hydrated glow I've come to love.

It's safe to say that this mask has become a steadfast staple in my weekly routine now, and although many others may fight for my affection (Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin mask, I'm looking at you) this is my one true love.
