I can't say I'm much of a TV shopper, in a similar vein to my feelings towards online shopping. I much prefer being able to see and feel a product in person and would much rather hit the town for an afternoon of browsing shops than spend an evening placing online orders. That's not to say I don't do it, however, it's more of an "if I have to" than a preference.
Thanks to my lack of experience with the world of television shopping I had no idea that they held a treasure trove of beauty gems, waiting to be discovered. Ideal World were kind enough to send over a box filled with some of the products they offer and true to form I was very excited to find some new brands to stick my teeth in to. Some I'd heard of before, but others were brand new to me, which makes the exciting prospect of finding a hidden holy grail all the more possible!
The first brand I pulled out of the box was one of those ever-so-exciting new discoveries - Elizabeth Grant. Elizabeth Grant sell a range of premium skincare enriched with natural sea vitamins, nutrients, and minerals. There are four targeted ranges available, including Wonder Effect, Collagen Reinforce, Supreme and Green Power C. The majority of the products on offer are targeted towards anti-ageing, which isn't a massive issue for me and my eternal baby face, but it's never too early to consider.
The products I received in my box included the Hydra-Cell Active Foot Cream, Wonder Effect Glycolic Mask, Moisture Stick lip balm and Silk Edition Collagen Re-Inforce Firming Eye Pads. So far, I'm loving the Moisture Stick lip balm which comes in an easy to use stick format, making it perfect for popping in my bag to use throughout the day. It's super nourishing without being overly greasy, and a good lip balm is an absolute must as the colder days draw in. The Wonder Effect Glycolic Mask has been a fantastic addition to my nightly routine, as my skin can never get enough of Glycolic based treatments. It's been left brighter and plumper, feeling a whole lot more moisturised than it would usually feel at this time of year!
The next brand I noticed was Skinn, another beauty brand I hadn't heard of before finding it in the box. Skinn have a range of both skincare and makeup, but the two products I've been trying are both makeup. First up is the Plasma Fusion Full Pigment Lipstick in the shade "Chestnut" which is a deep brown toned burgundy. The inner layer is infused with argan oil and rosehip oil which is nourishes your lips like a balm whilst still giving the full pigmentation of a lipstick. It's a gorgeous shade, and the formula is very welcome in my collection. I also received one of their Luxe Waterproof Eyeliners in "Dark Brown" which is a super soft pencil that doesn't smudge. I don't wear brown eyeliner much, but it's still handy to have for days when I don't want anything too dramatic or heavy.
I'd heard of The Wet Brush before, so I was really excited to find one of their Detangle brushes in my box. My hair is a nightmare to brush on a good day, but I've recently been trying out a few new styles of brushes to try and aid that. The handle on the brush makes it so easy to grip, making it ideal for using in the shower, but I do find the bristles to be a little bit sore on my scalp. I try to only use this on the lengths of my hair as a result of this, where it works really well.
There was also a little 2ml sample of the Fabulift Fabulous Eyes treatment which is targeted at softening lines around the eye area and plumping the skin. I'm lucky enough not to have any noticeable lines around my eyes, but I gave this a go anyway and did feel like it helped brighten the skin around my eyes a little. It's hard to tell from such a small sample size, especially with skincare!
The next product definitely caught my attention, and that was the Liquilift Slender Wrap. This is basically a thermal wrap that's supposed to improve circulation and blood flow, in order to leave the skin feeling tighter and smoother. Apparently this mask will help me "lose inches" from whichever area I choose, but I'm a little dubious about this claim? Who knows. I will report back as soon as I've tried it, but again I feel like it might be the kind of thing you'd need to use more than once to really judge the effectiveness.
The final product in the box is the Rejuvenating Collagen Mask by Beauty Pro. I can't find it on the website, but it's essentially a 15 minute sheet mask infused with green tea and collagen to improve the appearance of your skin. Again, it is more targeted at anti-ageing but I love a good sheet mask so it didn't put me off! I did find it to have a bit of a sticky residue afterwards, more so than other sheet masks I've used, but I did notice a real difference in the hydration of my skin - particularly across my forehead. It's a pretty standard sheet mask, but definitely worth trying!
Ideal World stock a huge range of beauty which I didn't even know about, and you can check some of that out here. There'll be more of their beauty featuring on Colours & Carousels very soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
