Each year, the Girls Day Out descends upon Glasgow for a weekend of cocktails, shopping, and fun at the start of December. This year will be no different, and at the end of September, I was invited along to get a sneak peek of what's in store for this year's show. Having never attended the show myself I was excited to see what it's all about, and after getting a glimpse at what the weekend holds I'm even more excited for December to roll around.
The event was held in Metropolitan, in Glasgow's Merchant Square. On the night we arrived at the venue to find a gorgeous private room, decked out with elegant place settings and a cosy atmosphere that was perfect for catching up with my favourite bloggers, and finally being able to put Twitter names to faces for a few new people too!
We were treated to a gorgeous spread of Afternoon Tea from the team at Metropolitan, which will also be on offer at the show itself in December. If you know me, you'll know I love afternoon tea and as a result, I was very quick to get stuck in. I didn't know that Metropolitan actually offered afternoon tea and I'm really looking forward to trying more of their selection at the show in the future. The scones were top notch, which is always a winner in my eyes!
As we tucked in to the delectable treats on the table the Girls' Day Out Team had put together a quick lineup of speakers from some of the brands exhibiting at the event. We got to hear about the latest tips, trends and tools of the trade from Fake Bake, Urban Decay, Urban Hair & Beauty and F.A.C.E. Semi-permanent Makeup. The brands also revealed a little bit of what's to come at the show, including semi-permanent brows, makeovers, hair styling, exclusive discounts and more...
As well as the speakers, there were stands set up around the room so that we could have a hands-on experience with some of their products and services. I fell head over heels for the new Urban Decay Ultimate Basics palette, which I'm going to be adding to my collection as soon as possible!
Other brands demonstrating on the night included Yerba Water and Massage & Glow, who were sampling their products for the attendees to give an idea of what to expect from their stalls at the event. I had a very much needed massage, which reminded me just how much I need to sort out regular appointments to relieve some of the tension I carry in my shoulders!
This was just a small sampling of what's to come, as the show itself has over 200 exhibitors to choose from. Indulge yourself in a spot of shopping with exclusive discounts, samples and offers, or just pick up a few free samples on the day! As well as that, treat yourself to a little tipple from the two cocktail bars or the champagne bar before checking out some of the catwalk shows taking place across the weekend. The event takes place across the weekend of the 4th-6th December, so it's the perfect time to pick up some Christmas prezzies - or just treat yourself. From fashion to beauty, health & wellbeing you're sure to find something, so you may as well take advantage! I for one am very excited to check it all out come December time, hopefully I'll see you there too?
