If you read beauty blogs, it's hard to ignore the fact that Zoeva are a pretty well talked about brand. I'd been lusting after their beautiful make up brushes for a while (I mean, hello. ROSE GOLD!) but hadn't been all that bothered about the eyeshadow palettes, despite a whole lot of love in the blogosphere for them.

After one particularly busy day at work, just after payday, I was feeling a bit mopey and so I did what I usually do to cheer myself up - shopping. I'm loving liquid lipsticks at the moment and was checking out the range on offer at Beauty Bay when the Zoeva palettes caught my eye. Obviously, being me, I couldn't decide on just one, and so goes the story of how these palettes came to be in my life.

En Taupe palette by Zoeva - £18 available here

The first palette that caught my eye was En Taupe, a selection of ten relatively neutral hues with hints of pinks and purples. I've been trying to bring more "colourful" neutrals in to my collection, if they're even a thing, so when I spotted these cute as can be - whilst still being wearable - shades I knew it had to be mine.

As you'd expect from any decent palette, there's a good mix of mattes and shimmers allowing for a variety of looks. These shades are quite muted, which I like because they're not intimidating for someone like me who shies away from bold eyeshadows. On the whole the texture of these is nothing short of incredible - they're buttery soft, blend like a dream and pack a fair amount of pigment. There a couple of stunning duochrome shadows in there too, like the beautiful soft pink "Handmade" which has a bold gold undertone. The shades do have a little bit of fall out in the palette however they are far from chalky.

Out of the two palettes I ordered, this is definitely the most wearable for me. I can see it getting a lot of use on a daily basis.

Mixed Metals palette by Zoeva - £18 available here

I may have just proclaimed my undying love for neutrals, but there was something about the Mixed Metals palette that I just could not ignore. You can probably see why, right? When first swatching these shades I was totally blown away not only by the insane level of pigmentation in these super creamy metallic shadows, but the stunning shades on offer too.

Surprisingly, I find these quite easy to wear! I think the fact that each shade has a perfect partner within the palette makes them a lot easier to work with, and I've really been enjoying putting together new looks. The shades are a bit more suited to an autumnal colour palette, but I find myself reaching for this palette more and more. I'm in love with each and every one of the ten shades and think it boasts a great variety. Neo Brass, the bold golden green, has to be one of my favourites in the palette and I think it really suits my skin tone and eye colour.

It's been a while since I've been so excited about an eyeshadow palette, but at £18 each I feel like these two are absolute steals when it comes to quality and value for money. Plus the packaging is just damn gorgeous!

Have you tried anything from Zoeva? I'd love to hear your recommendations!
