Bag - Accessorize
Necklace - Claire Barclay Draws
Shoes - Adidas
I know that it's technically not Spring until the end of the month, but since March began I've been unable to shake this gnawing feeling that my wardrobe needs a full blown update. My Winter fashion consisted solely of pyjamas, cosy jumpers and maybe a pair of jeans if I was leaving the house, so moving away from that is becoming a bit of an issue when my current wardrobe leaves me feeling so uninspired.
For me, denim used to only feature in my wardrobe in the form of jeans or my beloved oversized denim jacket, but I'd been hunting for the perfect denim A-line skirt since last summer. It arrived in the form of this beauty from the denim range at New Look which I knew would be a good bet based on previous experiences. What with us edging towards sunnier days, I wanted to add a bold pop of sunshine in the form of this gorgeous yellow Accessorize tote bag, which is the perfect size for people like me who carry their lives with them on a daily basis. In keeping with the sunshine theme I obviously had to add the latest addition to my Claire Barclay Draws collection which is this adorable Get Happy necklace. One of my favourite colour combinations is yellow and grey, so instead of throwing on my usual black leather jacket I thought I'd switch it up with an old favourite in the form of this coat which I picked up in New Look a few years ago, paired with the shoes that grace my feet on a daily basis - my grey Adidas Gazelles.
I'm trying to ignore just how busy this week is going to be as it makes me tired just thinking about it, but I've got some pretty fun stuff on. In typical Charlotte fashion there's lots of food involved, including a pizza battle, but there's also some slightly unusual activities for me including a bit of bouncing around... All will be revealed ;)
In other news, New York is all officially booked! Come the 18th of May I'll be making my first journey out of Europe and flying solo across the Atlantic to meet my best friend in the Big Apple. It's all a bit surreal at the moment, but I've started making my shopping list already and I've been spending a fair bit of time scrolling through city guides on Pinterest. If anyone has any recommendations of what to do, where to eat, the best shops to hit up then please send them my way! I'm looking for blog posts, video diaries, random articles you found on Facebook, that one pizza place your cousin's aunt's friend's husband recommended - the works.
How is your wardrobe making the transition in to spring?
