I'm struggling to come to terms with the fact that it's only two weeks until Christmas Eve. Despite sitting writing this post wearing a suitably festive jumper, wrapped up in a Christmassy blanket listening to Katy Perry cover White Christmas it still feels like the day itself is so far away... This is basically my way of admitting that I still have a lot of shopping to do.
I'm trying not to go overboard with Christmas presents this year as I'm on a bit of a tight budget, so I've been trying to find cute little things that are both useful and purse friendly, as well as being something that will make the recipient smile instead of lying unused.
I think it's hard to go wrong with pretty pieces of jewellery like this Delicate Leaf Open Cuff Bracelet from Accessorize. Their collection of bracelets has something to suit any taste, making it one of my first stops when it comes to buying gifts. Designer watches seem to be increasingly popular Christmas gifts, but for someone as clumsy as me this metallic strap watch from New Look is a much better option. I have smashed so many watches in my life that I'd be too scared to wear anything too expensive on a daily basis!
As someone who has smashed a fair few mugs in the past few weeks I am a firm believer in the philosophy of there being no such thing as too many mugs. I LOVE MUGS. These days, a cute mug is worth a thousand Instagram likes, and isn't that all that really matters? Well no, but that doesn't stop me adding to my collection. I bought the Little Miss Blogger mug for myself earlier in the week and if the Instagram comments are anything to go by it's going to be pretty popular amongst the blogosphere this Christmas. I can just imagine the Alphabet Spotty Mug making my usual cup of tea feel ever so fancy, with it's pretty gold edging and handle, whilst the Cath Kidston Travel Mug is a must have for caffeine addicts on the go.
Beauty gift sets are great for little Christmas gifts and personally I tend to opt for ones that let me try products I usually can't afford, like this cute little Clarins Cupcake, or sets that offer something a little bit different such as this adorable Beauticology Bath Set which is housed in a cute little bubble bath!
Slightly different, but still beauty related, is this pineapple scented detangling brush. Being the owner of very thick, unruly curls I struggle to understand the hype surrounding Tangle Teezer style brushes as I don't find them durable enough... but add in a pineapple scent and I'm all yours. Another product that leans a bit more on the novelty side is the Garfield wash bag which I just couldn't ignore. Garfield is my spirit animal, okay?
I feel like I never stop talking about candles. I'm not sorry. Candles are brilliant. There are so many amazing scents on offer these days that it can be a struggle to choose just one but I decided to share the pomegranate and passionfruit candle from New Look's recently revamped home range. It looks so much more expensive than it is, which is always a bonus, and having had a sniff in store I can confirm it is as delicious as it sounds.
As per usual, I've saved the best till last. Sausage Dog Slippers - need I say more? In all honesty, I had intended this post to be £10 and under until I saw these slippers. That's how much I love them.
