Well would you look at that? My first outfit post in far too long! It was never intentional, I'm just ridiculously fussy about my outfit photos and more often than not hate the ones I take myself. I've not been feeling the most confident in my "style" recently which I suppose has had an impact too. Yesterday I decided to suck it up and headed in to the garden with my tripod - so I'm pretty damn happy to say that there's a few more outfit posts on the way!

When I was asked to pick a pair of jeans from New Look as part of their new Jeans Fit campaign I thought I'd go for a subtle nod to my wannabe emo kid days in high school, whilst simultaneously jumping on a fashionable bandwagon, with this ripped knee pair. For years I'd hated shopping for jeans, but in the past few weeks I've managed to find not one, but two perfect pairs. With more retailers releasing petite ranges it's made my life a whole lot easier, and now I can finally own a pair of ripped jeans where the holes don't sit on my shins! Short girl problems...

I'm now on the hunt for the perfect green toned checked shirt to wear with these for the ultimate wannabe grunge look. I definitely feel at home in a pair of jeans and battered Vans! Back in the day I used to fancy myself as a bit of an emo kid, and would often be found wearing coloured skinnies with a band tee of choice (usually Paramore, All Time Low or We The Kings) and overly back-combed bright red hair. Yeah, I was cool.

In the spirit of my usual outfit posts, I figured I'd update you all on what's going on for me at the moment. This week I spent a couple of days exploring Liverpool by myself which was really fun, albeit nerve-racking, and now I'm getting stuck in to lots of content planning for the next few weeks.

If you don't follow me on Twitter then you might have missed me mentioning that I'm actually having surgery a week on Tuesday. I'm a bit nervous but it's been a long time coming and is actually the best thing for me at the moment, but as a result I'm going to be spending a good few days hanging out in bed with my Netflix account and don't really want to be worrying too much about my blog whilst doing so. I've also been trying to upload two videos a week to my YouTube channel, so I've got that to think about too! The sensible thing would be to just take time off, but I have a stupid habit of stressing out about leaving it all to wither whilst I'm lazing about...

So, that's what's been going on lately! Has anything exciting been happening for you? Tell me about your week and be sure to let me know if there are any blog posts or videos you'd like to see!

It means so much to me that people take the time to comment, and I really appreciate each and every one. I try to reply to all of them but I am pretty forgetful, so if you have a burning question that you would like me to answer please drop me a tweet @colourscarousel or email me!
