Dog Walking Dates
No matter what the season, the weather in Scotland will never play ball for long. After a week or so of beautiful crisp mornings, blazing sunshine and an unseasonable lack of rain we have been pretty much thrust in to Winter already. It's been cold, grey, rainy, windy... you name it. This is when the word "dreich" seems so perfect. Despite the rain, I still love Autumn. There's something about the colour palette and the atmosphere that a new academic year brings around. Although I'm not going back to university this year, I'm still feeling the whole "fresh start" thing that is associated with the new term.
Last Wednesday I spent the day wandering around in the rain with Jenny and two pretty puppies, which you can see more of in my most recent vlog. It was so nice to be outside soaking up the fresh air (in soaking wet weather) whilst chasing after two cheeky pups who apparently like to photobomb each other.
I have to admit, I've been a bit down lately. With everyone heading back to university I couldn't help but feel a little bit lost, but now I'm just taking my time to appreciate this chance to rethink my outlook and where I'm heading. I'm trying to use my spare time productively at the moment, with most of it being thrown in to my blog and hunting for a new job, but I also want to finally get round to the things I've been saying I'll do for ages. I want to improve my photography skills, and maybe take a photography class, I want to bake more and cook more and just see more. I want to do more. I want to do things that scare me!
This time of year is typically when I'll head in to my hibernation, but with no impending academic deadlines and only a weekend job to commit to at the moment, I want to fill my time with adventures and experiences. I want to go to the cinema by myself, finally learn how to use Final Cut Pro and maybe, just maybe, make the perfect Christmas cake. It's the little things!
This week I'm heading down to Manchester to see my family, and at the start of November I'm trotting off on a solo adventure to Liverpool. I've never been away myself before so I'm quite nervous, but really excited. On Friday I booked a little surprise trip in January for my boyfriend's 21st birthday present. I can't tell you where we're going, because I don't want to ruin the surprise just yet, but I can't wait to see the look on his face when I tell him.
Do you have any plans for the rest of the year, or any final resolutions to tick off as 2016 creeps closer?
