The Glamour Summer Edit - Latest In Beauty

It's been a while since I read a review of a beauty box and thought "I need that in my life", and seeing as the last beauty box I bought was the full blown disappointment that Cohorted first offered it's fair to say I'd been steering clear. That was until I saw a review of the Glamour Summer Edit for Latest In Beauty! As I scrolled through I found myself thinking that I would actually quite like to try nearly every single thing in the box with only one exception, so I hopped off to the Latest In Beauty website and hurriedly ordered one for myself.

This was a good few weeks ago, but in the whirlwind of the past few weeks I totally forgot to actually post about it, however right now the box has 20% off on the Latest In Beauty website and so I thought it was the perfect time to share what is one of the best beauty subscription boxes I've had in a long time.

I know that you should never judge a book by it's cover, but I am a sucker for cute packaging and so as soon as I saw this box I was instantly drawn in. I love the adorable watermelon design, it's so fresh and summery which is exactly what you'd expect from a "Summer Edit". It also photographs well, a bonus for any blogger, and won't look totally out of place when it inevitably becomes a storage box in my room.

Moving on to the contents! I was pretty happy with the selection on offer in the box, I found a good mix of categories and on the whole I think I will actually get some use from everything.

Some of the products I was most excited about included a sample of the Pixi Glow Tonic, which if you've been reading my blog for a little while you will know is something I've wanted to try since the start of the year. This little sample size is ideal for me as it means I can finally try it out without worrying about having a load left over if I don't like it. So far though, I am pretty impressed. It's not worked any wonders yet but it's also not dried my skin out which I was worried about!

Now, with my holiday on the horizon I've been starting to think about my holiday beauty, and this self tanning bronzer from Vita Liberata is definitely part of it. I'm hoping to come back from Turkey with a bit of a tan and I'm excited to see how well this really works for me! The concept of a self tanning bronzer is a bit new to me, and does feel a bit gimmicky, but the packaging screams quality so fingers crossed the results are what I'm after.

As soon as I opened this box the first thing I had to use was the Nails Inc Gel Effect polish in Uptown, a gorgeous dusky nude-pink shade. I haven't actually bought any Nails Inc polishes since they changed their packaging and despite my original reservations I prefer their new shape. The polish itself is easy to apply, opaque in just two coats and lasts a good few days before chipping - even without a topcoat.

I love body polishes, so was really excited to try out the Super Toning Body Polish from Balance Me. I really struggle with dry skin on my arms and legs so this is the kind of product I always include in my routine and this has to be one of my favourites that I've tried. As well as exfoliating, it also cleanses and moisturises making it an ideal addition to my holiday beauty regime. I've used this a few times so far and am seriously impressed, so it's absolutely coming to Turkey with me to help properly remove all the sand and suncream from my skin.

Another product that I'm saving for my holiday is the tinted Eucerin facial sun cream, mostly because I'm too pale for it right now. Scottish Summer problems. I've tried some of Eucerin's skincare before and really loved it so I'm looking forward to giving this a proper go! I struggle to find a good sun cream for my face so this is a very welcome addition to my collection. Plus, it's SPF 50 which is going to be perfect for the harsh Turkish sun and the tint will hopefully even out my skin tone without the need for extra coverage in the form of makeup.

One of the only disappointing products from this box was the Bourjois Color Boost lip crayon, and the reason it was so disappointing is because I already have two of these in this exact shade, and the shade looks horrific on me. My skin tone is just not cut out for this peachy/coral shade (Peach on the Beach) so I was actually kind of annoyed to see it in my box. Especially because the other two shades looked gorgeous! Oh well, I'd say one disappointing product is pretty good going as far as a beauty box is concerned.

Another highlight of the box for me is the Caudalie Divine Oil, yet another brand that I've wanted to get my hands on for a very long time and it really did not disappoint. I really love multi-purpose oils right now and having burned my way through two of my more recent purchases from The Body Shop this couldn't have arrived at a better time. The smell is just incredible, and so far it's working really well for both my face and body.

I already had a little sample duo of the L'Occitane Five Essential Oils shampoo & conditioner, but sample sizes like these come in so handy if I'm going to be away for a couple of days. I can't say I was blown away by them as it can be difficult to properly judge from such a small size, however they haven't done any noticeable damage to my hair and as a result I have nothing bad to say about them!

Finally, the "must have" this summer seems to be metallic temporary tattoos and I've acquired quite a collection. The ones included in this box from Seekers of the Sun are so sweet and dainty, I can't wait to make the most of them when I've got less of a milk bottle glow to me.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with this box. Like I said before one disappointing product is pretty good going as far as these monthly subscription boxes go so I think it was a relatively successful purchase! At £17.99 I'd say this was a bargain, seeing as I managed to get my hands on a lot of products I wanted to try. I'd never purchased from Latest In Beauty before, but I do like that they have a variety of options when it comes to purchasing a box, including "Build Your Own" and one off, curated boxes too.
