BEAUTY: Rainbow Room International, Bearsden

Up until very recently I hadn't had my hair cut in about two years due to my previous hairdresser being kind of rubbish. You get what you pay for when it comes to hair and let's say I didn't pay all that much before. Seriously though - if I wear my hair curly why straighten it to cut?! It's clearly not going to look the same.

Anyway. last year I headed to an event at the Rainbow Room International salon in Glasgow's Royal Exchange Square and was thoroughly enthralled by the skill level of their stylists. After finding out they also had a salon a bit closer to me in Bearsden I was over the moon! Last week I popped in for a cut & blow dry that - for a change - didn't result in me leaving the salon in a foul mood.

Not only was the salon itself beautiful and clean, but my stylist, Brogan, was incredibly talented and clearly very knowledgeable when it came to cutting hair. I knew I wanted something a bit more "fringey" than usual however I had no idea what would suit my face so it was really comforting being told exactly what would and wouldn't work for my hair, as well as getting tips & tricks on how to blow dry it properly. Usually the nick of my hair is pretty embarrassing so it made a change to not be berated for my love of curling wands or box dyes! Have I finally found the salon to do my colour after years of doing my own? I think so!

It may be a minuscule detail to some, but I just have to mention that as well as getting a fantastic hair cut and head massage, I also had a fantastic cup of tea. It takes some serious skill to impress me when it comes to making my perfect cup of tea as I'm very particular, so this was a definite winner! Plus, two biscuits? It's love.

Here's a grainy selfie to show off my new hair... Having hair flopping in to my eyes again is taking a bit of getting used to but I love the difference it makes without being overly drastic. I can't stress enough how much of a difference it makes to have your hair cut by someone that clearly knows exactly what they're doing, it really puts you at ease and I think it's so important to be able to trust your hairdresser. Looks like I'm going to become a 6 weeks or less kind of girl when it comes to getting a trim!

This was a complimentary cut provided for review purposes.
This does not impact my views at all - I genuinely loved the salon and will be returning.
