Street Food @ Sloans Launch
Damn, writing this post is making me hungry all over again.
So, yesterday I ventured in to Glasgow with Hayley and Louise for a spot of shopping before meeting up with Morag and heading to the launch of Sloans' new Street Food menu to have a peek at their new sharing platters. I can safely say that the food was good. Very good. And that's coming from someone who is quite fussy about their food!
Sloans have just launched a new menu with five different sharing meals, three meals served over delicious chips and two yummy platters. These meals are:
The Cowboy - BBQ chicken wings and ribs, blue cheese dressing and hot sauce
The Gringo - Beef chilli, cheese and jalapenos
The Mac Daddy - Extra cheesy macaroni with crispy bacon or onion rings and salsa (the onion rings were damn good)
The Soprano Platter - Cured salami, cheese, olives, grilled peppers and bread
The Stavros - Hummus, falafel, roast veg, olives and flat bread with feta cheese or merguez sausage
We were lucky enough to sample them all, and I have to say that The Cowboy was pretty good! I would probably pop back and get another for lunch at some point. They're priced at £9.95 between two people which I would say is really good value for money considering the portion sizes and quality of food.
In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have eaten a two course meal before going to a food event, but I'll bear that in mind for next time. If you're ever in Glasgow I would definitely recommend checking out Sloans in the city centre, it's tucked out of the way of all of the hustle and bustle and is really worth a visit.
