Lush Gift Box Sale Haul

Christmas Candy - originally £19.95, sale price £9.98
Bunty (Pink) - originally £13.25, sale price £6.63
Hello Gorgeous - originally £20.95, sale price £10.48
Sweet Christmas - originally £6.95, sale price £3.48
Hello! Hope you all had a fab Christmas. I had a rather quiet Christmas at home this year which was lovely but different! Off down to Manchester today so that will all change.
I've been working quite a bit around the holidays so being surrounded by sales has made me shop a lot, although the sales have been a little bit disappointing this year. I'm planning on buying a camera lens at some point so I think that will be my big sale splurge this year dependent on what goodies the Arndale brings. My only major purchase this sale season happened in Lush. I originally went in to pick up some Snow Fairy, however all of the Glasgow stores had sold out of all sizes of the bottles and instead decided to pick up some gift boxes... Never fear, I did get some Snow Fairy! And lots of my other favourites such as Candy Mountain and the Comforter. I'm going to give the Bunty Box to my mum for her birthday in January, but the other boxes are for little ol' me. I would definitely recommend popping in to your local Lush if you fancy a bargain, but both of the Glasgow stores were looking a little bare on Friday so it might be a bit sparse!
I have this week off work but I'm going to be down in Manchester until Wednesday however I'll still try post now life is a bit quieter.

Lots of love,

Galaxy defenders stay forever

Leather & galaxy print dress - Missguided
Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell via Office (I can't find the brown suede on the website, sorry!)
Necklace - Diva @ Miss Selfridge
This is what I wore for my lovely boyfriend's 18th birthday party! This dress featured in a wish list quite a while ago and I eventually caved and ordered it. It was originally intended for one of my Christmas dresses, however it ended up being my dress of choice for the party. Had a great weekend celebrating, I do love a good party! Sorry the photo had to come from Instagram, I'm sure you're all aware of the lighting issues the winter brings. Missing long days and late sunsets.

You look at me, it's like you hit me with lightning

Christmas has made life pretty hectic right now, but this weekend was my first free weekend in over a month so I've just spent some time relaxing. I'm starting to slowly get excited for the upcoming festivities but I'm also dreading working the sales for the first time...
Between work and school, I've been spending a lot of time working on photography. Mostly because I finally handed in my research project so I've fallen in love with it all over again as it's less of a chore. I decided to start a 365 Project to encourage myself to take more photos, I'd love it if you took a peek! If any of you are signed up let me know, I love a nosey.
Last Thursday I went to see Ellie Goulding for the second time and she was fantastic as ever, as were the support band - Sons & Lovers - were also amazing. Really want to go see them again! If you didn't already know, I made this blog during a bit of an Ellie Goulding obsession and the name 'colours and carousels' comes from her song Starry Eyed! This Thursday it's my last ever Christmas dance at school which is making me a tiny bit sad, it's one of my favourite annual events. Mostly due to the fact that I get to buy a new dress... So expect some pictures next weekend! Next Sunday is my Christmas Night Out with my friends which I'm really looking forward to; ice skating in George Square and a nice dinner out!

I was devastated to hear about the shooting in Connecticut and my heart goes out to the families involved. xo

3) They must create 11 more questions to ask bloggers they tagged.

I mentioned a while ago that I would eventually get round to posting some of the work for my photography project on here - that day has finally arrived! These are a few of the photos taken from my first photo shoot for the project and I'm really happy with how they turned out in the end. How pretty are my friends? Massive thank you to Emma & Catriona for standing out in the freezing cold for me! I'm happy to finally get some photos taken as things kept getting in the way, but now I'm on a bit of a roll with work and finally starting to get on top of it all. Already roughly planning my next photo shoot which will involve many more layers!
It's starting to get super chilly and dark really early these days, but I'm hoping as it gets closer to Christmas I'll have a bit more free time to post. I'm still lurking around reading everyone's posts so pretty please link your blog for me to check out!

What I've Been Reading, Watching & Listening To

Hello! Me again, surprise surprise. I'm so busy at the moment but I'm grabbing a quick moment between working on my uni presentation and photography project to write a little post to try and get me back in to the swing of things. I have a list of post ideas that I just need to get photos for that will hopefully manage to take me over the festive season! Since I last posted I finally managed to get a job and am now a sales assistant in Miss Selfridge! I'm so happy I got this and I'm loving it at the moment, even though it's very tiring.
Anyway, on to the real deal.

What I've Been Reading

Cell by Stephen King
It has to be said that Stephen King is my all time favourite author. I blame my mum. Between us we have his entire body of work and I'm slowly making my through all of them. (My favourite so far is 11.22.63 if you were wondering!) Cell is classic King, beautifully written, terrifying and obsessive. I thought it would be your run of the mill zombie apocalypse scenario but it was just so much more. I would seriously recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind a bit of a fright and wants a decent read.
Other Stephen King books I would recommend include Carrie, The Shining, The Stand, The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, Under The Dome (think The Simpsons movie but gorier), The Mist and The Tommyknockers.

What I've Been Listening To

I didn't originally think this would be an album I would like, but after the insanely catchy We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (like, ever) I decided to give it a chance. I'm not going to lie I don't love the entire album but I just can't stop listening to three songs in particular - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, I Knew You Were Trouble and Starlight.

What I've Been Watching

Skyfall!
Let's be honest, not many people haven't been watching Skyfall. I am one of the millions who loved this film, however I really didn't expect it to be as long! Daniel Craig is gorgeous although looking a bit rough in this and Judi Dench is as amazing as ever. This film was - to use one of my least favourite phrases - a total rollercoaster of emotions and I would seriously recommend you go see it as soon as possible if you haven't already! Possibly one of my favourite Bond films. (Out of the whole four I've actually seen the whole way through...)

That's just a little glimpse of what I've been doing lately, I've also been watching Katy Perry: Part Of Me pretty much every night a hell of a lot. My brand new Unlimited Premium card came through this week and I'm hoping to go see a few films this week - on my list are Silver Linings and Breaking Dawn. Woooo I'm so happy I finally posted again!

Lots of love

Still here

Hello again! Just thought I'd pop in with a little update on what I've been up to lately. Most exciting for me was visiting Aberdeen to go to the Robert Gordon University open day and absolutely falling in love with the place. Before I visited I was quite worried about moving away for uni, but now I've seen the place and learned a bit more about the course I'll hopefully be doing (Fashion Management) I can't wait to be there. Exciting stuff! It really is a lovely city, slightly chilly, but lovely all the same.
Apart from that school work is ever consuming. Got a big presentation for uni coming up and still need to finish my photography project - Christmas is creeping up. My RMPS class went to visit a beautiful Buddhist monastery in Dumfries which was a rather odd thing to see in the middle of the Scottish countryside. Interesting to get a glimpse of how Buddhists live.
I'm being a total book geek as usual and right now I'm in one of my Stephen King phases. King is probably my favourite author and Cell was an absolutely amazing book. I'm constantly in awe of King's writing and Cell was no exception, I'd would definitely recommend reading it if you get the chance! There is a film adaptation due out in the next couple of years.
I've been trying to get decent photos for blogging properly but at this time of year the light just goes so quickly and the days themselves are rather dull. I'm trying my best, meanwhile I'm always lurking reading everyone's blogs - so please leave links for me!

Every now and then the stars collide

All images are my own, more on my Flickr
Hello! I thought I would just share part of the reason I've been so absent lately. Working on my photography project is overwhelming at the moment! These aren't for my actual project, these are just a few random snaps I've taken amongst my work. I've got a lot of work to do, but researching beautiful fashion photography isn't the worst task I've ever undertaken! School and university are pretty hectic at the moment but I'm trying my best to keep on top of things. Fingers crossed everything will calm down soon enough.
Short and sweet, just the way I like it.

Together in electric dreams

Dress - Topshop (actually Amy's)
Shoes - River Island
Making one of those rare appearances that I put in every so often... I have been insanely busy lately! I have the week off of school this week so I'll hopefully get back in to the swing of things. Thank you to Amy for taking this photo - in the bathroom of China Buffet King no less- before we went to a party that I do not want to go in to details about. It's actually full on neon orange which I had a sudden craving to wear, I think the dull weather has made me desperate for bright colours. I'm after a neon green dress I saw in H&M a few weeks ago that now seems to have disappeared!
Anyway, got quite a few things planned for this week, including going to the cinema a couple of times, seeing The Gaslight Anthem, lots of school work and hopefully some blogging! School is a bit full on at the moment so a week off will be lovely. I need to finish my UCAS but I'm waiting till I've visited a couple more universities before I send it off. On Friday I went to visit the Borders campus of Heriot Watt which was a lovely university but quite out of the way... Going to see Robert Gordon in November which is currently my first choice but it depends how the visit goes.
Last night I went to see Kevin Bridges at the SECC who was absolutely hilarious, I can't remember the last time I laughed like that. Can't wait for the DVD! Today is mostly dedicated to job hunting, but I'm going to the cinema tonight to see Perks of Being a Wallflower again.

P.S. My giveaway ended on Friday, and the winner was the lovely Mia!

Lots of love.

She's Like the Wind

Top - H&M
Skirt - Topshop
Belt - Primark
Hello! Another one of my funky wee reflected pictures, I actually really like them! Probably need a background that's little bit more exciting though. I threw this together last minute for an impromptu date night with my lovely boyfriend, we'd been planning on seeing the new Taken film but it was all sold out so instead we had a nice wee wander round the shops and a cheeky McDonalds. Shame the film was sold out, but we're going to go see it on Saturday as well as Perks of Being a Wallflower, the joys of an unlimited card! It's been a while since we've had the chance to spend most of the weekend together so I'm making us dinner tomorrow night which hopefully won't result in food poisoning. I am a good cook - promise!
Anyway, this outfit has become a quick favourite after finding one of my beloved Michael Jackson t-shirts that was hidden away in my very messy drawers. Definitely need a sort out sometime soon. Got a few posts planned for the upcoming week, luckily it's only a two day school week then one day of uni and after that over a week off! So plenty of time for posting. Need to sort out a couple of guest bloggers for November so please e-mail me if you're interested.
Don't forget to enter my giveaway!
Lots of love,
