A Week(ish) In Outfits

I've had these photos for a few days now so decided to give them some use. I'm not really in the mood to write much as I'm currently in hospital yet again but my dad has kindly let me borrow his dongle and this will cure my boredom for now.
Please excuse the bad lighting and unflattering angles, along with my uniform posing. Hm. My new H&M jumper certainly gets a lot of wear these days!

Keeping it short and sweet - just like me ;)

In love with Love

I've known about Love for a while, but only recently did I actually buy a dress from there. I found this years Christmas dress in the Topshop sale for £10 and absolutely loved it, lovely colour and style, quite simple, but you'll see closer to Christmas! I'm incredibly skint at the moment and still have the majority of my Christmas shopping to do so I can't really afford to treat myself to any of these lovelies, not that they're particularly expensive! Definitely after one of the asymmetrical maxi dresses, I think they're gorgeous! That leopard print maxi skirt is lovely too but I have definitely bought a lot of leopard print lately..
So excuse the kind of lame post, I've just had a bit of blogger's block lately! As usual...

Louise Walsh 16 Piece Professional Brush Set

I'd been on the hunt for some make-up brushes for a long time when I got an e-mail about a Groupon deal on these brushes, £19 instead of £99.99, which seemed pretty good to me! It took a while for them to arrive due to the sheer demand for them but now they have I'm pretty happy with them. They come in a lovely leather carry case and some of them have protective plastic covers. Now I have no clue what most of these brushes are for, but now I have them I aim to become a bit more acquainted with them.
The set includes:
– POWDER BRUSH
– CHISEL POWDER BRUSH
– TAPERED BRUSH
– ANGLE BRUSH
– CHISEL BRUSH
– DELUXE OVAL SHADOW
– DELUXE SOFT FAN
– ANGLE LINER
– BROWN/LASH GROOMER
– OVAL SMUDGER
– FLOCKED SPONGE
– FOUNDATION BRUSH
– MEDIUM SHADOW BRUSH
– BLENDING BRUSH
– CONCEALER BRUSH
– POINTER MASCARA APPLICATOR

The only one I've actually got round to using so far is the foundation brush, but it was really good! Great coverage and was really easy to clean afterwards too. Hopefully I'll be able to give a bit more detailed review of them once I've got to know them all a bit better, but this will have to do for now!

November FeelUnique.com Beauty Box

This is actually my very first sample box, I'd debated about trying the GlossyBox and numerous others for a while but was unsure after reading about how the mix of products seemed quite unreliable. However when I read LLYMLRS review of the October Beauty Box I decided just to go for it! Safe to say, I'm pretty impressed. The packaging is really simple, but cute too. The box will definitely come in useful with it's little drawer! I need to invest in some kind of make up storage now my collection is growing... I was worried that the contents would just be a bunch of stuff I would never use, but instead I was delightfully surprised!

Emma Hardle Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm & Dual Action Professional Cleansing Cloth - "This best-seller is the ultimate radiant-enhancing cleanser to prep your skin for a season of glowing!"
The only product from this box that I've actually had a chance to try before writing this, and it's great! I normally use Simple Moisturising Face Wash which is good for my skin, but for now I'll definitely be using this. It only takes a tiny bit of the product to use for my whole face and it really lifts my make up off well. It left my skin lovely and soft and helped get rid of a tiny patch of dry skin I had under my eye, and you can never have enough face cloths!

Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Dust It Mattifying Powder - "Best-selling Dust It comes in a lightweight powder that gives you versatile control - the more you apply the more control you get, with incredible volume!"
This is a product that I'd actually been looking to try for a while so quite glad it appeared in here. The little bottle it comes in is really cute and perfect for my very crowded dresser. My hair is in definite need of some control, but volume isn't really a problem for me as my hair is naturally massive.

Xen-Tan Deep Bronze Luxe - "This ultra sheer instant colour formula gives you an instant healthy glow. It's easy to apply, completely streak-free and smells delicious. Get a gorgeous glow that will last up to seven days, and a confidence boost that will last even longer!"
I'm not massively keen on fake tan, and if I do use it I use a gradual tanner rather than an instant colour, however I suppose there's a first time for everything! A bit worried about using it as the shade is 'dark' but hopefully I won't end up looking like the typical wotsit that you see hanging about in my school.

Goldwell DualSenses Rich Repair 60 Sec Treatment - "We all need a quick pick me up at times & so does our hair. That's why Goldwell have produced this wondrous & ultra fast-working product for dry, damaged hair."
Another product that I'm happy about getting a chance to try, my hair can get quite dry pretty easily so hopefully this will do wonders for it! I think I'm going to wait until after I go back to my natural blonde hair in January to try this one out as I'm pretty sure it'll need it!

Bella Pierre Shimmer Powder - "This multi-purpose shimmer powder is a must-have for adding some sparkle to your look - especially when you get the last minute office-to-party invite! It's completely multi-tasking so you can use as an eyeshadow or add to your eye liner, lip gloss, blusher, body bronzer, hair highlight & mascara... the possibilities are endless."
My Shimmer Powder came in the shade 'Stage'. This is a gorgeous gold colour that has great pigment (the swatch is from a tiny speck of product). I'm unsure about using it as a blusher, but it would definitely make a great eyeshadow, especially with the festive season coming up!

Extra: Prada Candy Sample
I was a bit disappointed with the size of the actual sample as the box is quite big and you only get a tiny little bottle, however it smells absolutely gorgeous and a tiny bit seems to go a long way!

I cancelled my Beauty Box subscription for next month as I won't be able to afford it in the run up to Christmas, but hopefully I'll be able to restart it after Christmas as it is definitely a great box with a good range of products at a good price (£9.95 including postage)

Baby You're A Firework - A week in photos

"malice in wonderland" halloween costume; me and amy winehouse; dressing up for KATY PERRY
(she now has my cat ears!); the babe herself; my favourite outfit of the night.

Anyone who knows me will know how much I love Katy Perry, I've been to see her three times this year and each time has just got better and better! So gutted now I know it's all over :( Hope she comes back sometime soon. I'm a KatyCat baby! I guess this isn't really a week in pictures, just a few nights.. But that is the extent of my week!

Let's go all the way tonight

Last week ended rather badly for me, but two days in and this week is going great!
Yesterday I managed to get a Katy Perry ticket for Thursday night for less than face value AHHHHHH! Love her so much. Then today I got my predicted grades for my highers and I somehow, after missing almost 2 months of school, managed to get predicted at AAABC which is more than I need to get a conditional for the course I want to do at uni. Being told this totally motivated me and I now feel like I can actually now get the grades I need. Oh, and one of my tweets got up on the screens at Katy's concert tonight too! I wish I could go to every night this week but I just can't afford it sadly :(
Just a tiny wee update, I didn't feel like posting much after the downer that was last week, but I have a couple of Halloween pictures to put up which I'll do at some point this week!
